Geneseo Class of 2009

So, I'm a senior... and thus am graduating in May and I was wondering if I could facilitate my landlady's search for a new resident by posting about my apartment on here...

You need to inquire down at Aunt Cookies about rent/seeing the place, etc... you want to ask for Ellen, M-F
before 3:30.

It's a one bedroom apartment, perfect sized for one person. It's a bit cozy, but I managed to fit about 25 people in here for one Halloween party... It is all about how you organize the furniture.

The apartment is above Aunt Cookie's on Main Street, so I can look out my windows and see the Bear fountain and up Center Street. It is close to EVERYTHING. Obviously it's close to the stuff on Main St. But also, the academic buildings are just a short walk down the hill.

The noise on Main St some nights can be a little bit of a problem, but the bedroom is at the back of the apartment so that if you are trying to sleep, it's not bad.

Here are some pictures I took of the place and the view (some are kind of random... and at odd angles, so I may take some more):

PicturesCollapse )

I don't have any pictures of the bedroom, but there is enough room in it for my queen-size bed and my dresser, and there is quite a bit of closet space.

If you have any questions about the apartment, please don't hestitate to e-mail me at suzi42@gmail.com. And if you plan on going and asking Ellen to show you the place, could you give me a heads-up so I can make sure it's presentable.

Also, I'd be willing to sell (to whoever moves in) a small dining room table, two folding chairs, a microwave, a microwave stand, and maybe a couch... for reasonable prices.

How much? [Aug. 25th, 2005|04:49 pm]
Geneseo Class of 2009
For those of you who haven't left yet (staying in hotels and what-not) how much stuff are you bringing?

I just packed, and filled the back of our SUV. I feel like I'm bringing so much, but I remember my brother taking even more to college 10 years ago...

Is anyone to the point of renting a U-Haul because they're bringing so much? Haha.

Hey guys, everyone getting ready??

Just curious what time people are arriving tomorrow.

Also, does anyone know what furniture the corridor style rooms have in them? Dresser? desk? closet? anything? haha.

Thanks!! Good luck with packing and all!

Geneseo Class of 2009

Five more days! Very exciting.

I have a question for all my people here from Rockland/Westchester/Long Island/NYC. It takes us a long time, anywhere from 4.5-6 hours to drive up to Geneseo.

From where I am, it's a five hour drive. I'm all for leaving at an ungodly hour of the morning in order to get there around 8 or 9. My father, unfortunately, hates the idea.

My question is, what is everyone else planning to do? My dad wants me to call up whoever at Geneseo and convince them to let me move in Thursday night or something. To that I say, hell no. It makes sense to me to just drive up there when we're supposed to.

How are you all planning to get here?

Move-in Day [Aug. 20th, 2005|02:01 pm]
Geneseo Class of 2009
On move in day (next Friday!) there are a whole bunch of activities planned (like a lunch, meeting with the President at his house etc). Does anyone know which of these events your families are invited to attend?

On a related note, is anyone here having their entire family come up and move them in? I know mine is.

Howdy '09, I'm '08. Ok not all of it, but one of the founding members of '08 community. And I'd like to extend to all of you an invitation. '08 will be having a comming back to school get together in the college union at the campus grind on Saturday August 27th at 8pm. If you don't know where that is, then send me an E-mail at mwk2 AT geneseo DOT edu. I'll either come pick you up and show you the way, or give you clear directions. We'd love to answer any questions you guys still have and even more like to make a couple new friends. So don't be shy, we all just finished the whole first year thing ourselves. If anyone has any questions in general feel free to dropp me an E-mail and I'd be more than happy to answer anything.
Look for me during move in, I should be patrolling a couple of dorms helping people set up their computers on our network. The name's Mike, and I personally welcome you all to Geneseo.

Again, I hope to see you in the campus grind on Saturday August 27th at 8pm.

'08 Welcomes you all to SUNY Geneseo.

Is anyone else planning to get a job during school? I need to get one, so I've been looking at that job site, but I noticed that there really weren't a lot of postings up there. Do you think there'll be more when classes actually start?
